We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Buyer to join the procurement team of a company in the technology and engineering space. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services from local suppliers to support operational needs. This role involves close collaboration with internal departments, maintaining supplier relationships, ensuring timely deliveries, and optimising cost-efficiency and quality in the supply chain. This is a full-time in-office position offering micro flexibility, working Monday to Friday from 08h00 to 16h45.

Responsibilities
  • Source goods and services and obtain quotations.
  • Execute approved requisitions and place orders.
  • Monitor order confirmations, due dates, and delivery dates.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement improvements.
  • Expedite open orders and resolve outstanding supplier queries.
  • Assist with stock take preparations and participate in annual stock counts.
  • Support resolution of creditor queries and assist with financial year-end requirements.
  • Provide training and assistance to internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO and health and safety standards.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or relevant qualification.
  • 3-year National Diploma or Degree in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related commercial field.
  • 5 years of experience in local procurement, supplier management, or purchasing, preferably within technical, engineering, or manufacturing environments.
