Main purpose of the job
  • To provide technical support, and to monitor and maintain laboratories, workshops, equipment, and inventory.

Minimum Qualification Knowledge and / or Experience
  • A relevant NQF Level 7 (BTech, AdvDip, BEngTech, or equivalent) in Civil Engineering.
  • Registration as a Candidate Engineering Technician / Technologist supported by proof that an application for
  • PrTechniEng / PrTechEng (Civil Engineering) registration with ECSA was submitted and is currently under final review.
  • Two (2) years’ relevant experience in Civil Engineering.
onstrated knowledge, proficiency, application, and practical experience of :
  • Maintenance of laboratories, workshops, equipment, inventory, and storerooms.
  • Financial processes and procurement processes : Quotes, requisitions, invoices, and reporting.
  • Marketing and liaising with suppliers and industry partners.
  • Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and inspections within laboratories.
  • Technical academic, i.e., teaching and learning associated with the practical components of subjects.
  • Software applications related to Civil Engineering, e.g., Microsoft Office, AutoDesk (Civil-3D & AutoCAD), Prokon, Geo5, etc.
  • SANS Design Codes applicable to Civil Engineering.
  • A relevant NQF Level 8 (BEng, BScEng, BEngTech Hons, or equivalent) in Civil Engineering.
  • Registration as a PrTechEng (Civil Engineering) with ECSA.
  • Evidence of progress towards a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (NQF Level 9) if in possession of an NQF Level 8 qualification.
  • Evidence of work experience in civil engineering covering all phases of the project life cycle.
  • Community engagement services in the profession.
