Join to apply for the Site Medical Doctor role at International SOS International SOS is currently seeking a Technical Advisor - Site Medical Officer role for Indonesia - RESIDENTIAL.
The Site Medical Advisor provides primary and emergency health care services to the local and expatriate population on site through the development of a quality focus general practice.
You may also be required to provide medical evacuation support to onsite employees and / or local community.
In addition you will be responsible for site‑specific community health and occupational health programs as determined by individual client contracts.
Eligibility Requirements
- To maintain own country medical license
- Have significant residency training (minimum 1 year), ideally in emergency medicine
- Have 5 years of experience working in roles with an emergency medicine scope of work (additional to residency)
- Have significant experience and training in family, general practice medicine and emergency medicine
- Must have experience in remote sites
In date for ACLS, BLS, ATLS / ITLS GMC registration is advantageous.
Medical Expertise
- Providing medical advice as well as supervision of medical care to the expatriate according to the highest international medical standards possible.
- Monitoring of patient's condition after treatment has been given.
- Providing health talks, medical advice / support to the expatriate community within the company's premises.
- Supervision and quality control of prescription of medicines by local treating physician when medically necessary.
Medical Evacuations
Decision about necessity to evacuate a patient, then coordination of arrangements for medical evacuation with the medical assistance company.
Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene
- Supervision and quality control of Annual Medical Check Up.
- Under the coordination of the Chief of Medical Officer, involvement in HSE Committee meetings and workplace health and medical inspection; inspection of work locations such as canteen, healthcare centre and providing solutions for areas of improvements in the company's premises.
- Support Chief Medical Officer in liaising with relevant authorities on issues related to public hygiene.
Training Officer
- Implementing standard medical operating procedures / protocols for all medical staffs on site and supervising good implementation of these standard medical operating procedures / protocols.
- Leading any training programs for national medical staffs, notably in updating them with the latest and more advanced practices.
Reporting
- Taking care of medical reports.
- Preparing detailed reports after each accident involving expatriate.
- Editing statistics about clinic activity and / or type and amount of treatments given as per requirement of company in a timely manner.
- Observing all rules and safety procedures from both the company.
- Keeping self fully informed about responsibilities as an Expatriate Family Physician and in the fields of Occupational Health / Industrial Hygiene.
