A leading financial services firm in South Africa is seeking a Finance Manager to ensure accurate financial reporting and manage all financial aspects of DetNet Europe. Responsibilities include preparing annual financial statements, performing financial calculations, and providing financial oversight to support strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate has experience in finance management and familiarity with SAP.

• Perform year-end and/or mid-year financial calculations.

Job description

Purpose of the job: To provide timely and accurate consolidated financial statements to shareholders and management of the DetNet Joint Venture to enable them to make sound and informed decisions. To manage the ICM process and ensure that there are adequate internal controls covering all financial risk areas and that any inadequacies are brought to the attention of the executive. Accountable for all financial aspects of DetNet Europe.

• Prepare annual financial statements for all DetNet entities.
• Complete and report on the ICM Testing for all DetNet entities.
• Manage all tasks relating to DetNet Europe entity.
• Perform year-end and/or mid-year financial calculations and SAP year-end rollover procedures.
• Prepare the annual insurance pack.
• Prepare the annual S11D calculation for audit review.
• Provide transfer pricing data and review the transfer pricing report.
• Perform month-end finance calculations and SAP month-end journals and procedures.
• Collate and consolidate data for annual budgets.
• Prepare and book monthly and weekly FEC.
• Manage and coordinate the annual stock count.
• Manage the physical asset verification process.
• Serve as a custodian of all Finance policies, procedures, and manage the document control process.
• Act as backup for the Business Accountant.
• Draft technical papers as required by the auditors.
• Provide and facilitate ad-hoc support to company strategic initiatives to align the business accounting functions with the company strategy.
• Investigate and identify accounting issues and implement solutions, procedures, and controls.
• Perform any other ad hoc duties related to finance.
