Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Project Management and Implementation Plan, manage and deliver Supply technology projects (MES, SCADA, OT infrastructure, data and reporting) across breweries in the Africa Zone, from scoping through to handover.
- Develop project scopes, delivery plans and timelines, tracking milestones, dependencies and critical path across multiple concurrent site rollouts.
- Prepare and motivate CAPEX and OPEX submissions, including business cases and value cases, and manage delivery against approved budgets and forecasts.
- Manage System Integrators and vendors through the project lifecycle, ensuring standards adherence, scope control, quality of delivery and commercial compliance.
- Execute deployment of Supply technology standards and platforms (OneTech, OneMES, Omnia, TrakSys, SODA, FLOW and the data backbone) at site and regional level in line with Zone roadmaps.
- Support the Manufacturing Systems teams with software deployment, licensing administration and version control as part of project rollout.
- Apply Manufacturing Systems change control practices and standards adherence throughout project delivery.
- Support OT and Manufacturing IT governance requirements within projects, including cybersecurity posture, network segmentation and remediation actions.
- Identify and manage project risks and issues, escalating to Zone Tech Supply leadership with proposed remediation.
- Project Adoption and Value Realisation Plan and organise structured user training at site level for affected personnel, including training schedules, materials and competency verification.
- Coach and upskill site teams to build sustainable local capability and reduce dependency on Zone and vendor support.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and hypercare, identifying adoption gaps and driving corrective action plans with site leadership.
- Define and track adoption metrics for deployed platforms (usage, data completeness, transaction compliance, KPI coverage) at each site post go-live.
- Own the post-project value realisation cycle: baseline, measure and report benefits against the approved value case.
- Report adoption and benefit performance to Zone Tech Supply and Supply leadership, with clear recommendations where value is not being realised.
- Drive standardisation of ways-of-working across sites so that benefits are repeatable and scalable across the Zone.
Business Support
- Provide zone support for brewery manufacturing systems (MES, SCADA, historians, reporting layers, data acquisition) to ensure maximum equipment and system availability, both for newly delivered projects and previously rolled-out platforms.
- Act as escalation point for site teams on Manufacturing Systems issues, coordinating resolution with contractors, vendors and global product teams.
- Deliver and maintain reporting, dashboard and application development solutions to brewery and Zone requirements, e.g. FLOW, SSRS and Grafana.
- Support data and analytics capability for Supply (performance, efficiency, quality and cost reporting), e.g. SQL, DB Maintenance, APIs, OPC UA.
Key Attributes and Competencies
- Project management capability: scoping, scheduling, budget and risk control.
- CAPEX / OPEX planning, business case and value case construction.
- Sound Control and Automation knowledge (PLC, SCADA, plant data flows e.g. FLOW).
- Working knowledge of the manufacturing / brewing process.
- Microsoft Server, networking and database knowledge.
- Manufacturing Systems (MES) and production execution systems knowledge.
- Strong understanding of standardisation and its importance in delivering scalable, repeatable and sustainable solutions across sites.
- Excellent problem-solving ability; analytical, lateral and conceptual thinker.
- Proactive with high energy levels and a strong sense of ownership.
- Clear, structured communication with contractors and regional teams.
- Strong training, facilitation and coaching skills.
- Data-driven approach to adoption tracking and benefits measurement.
- Calm and methodical under pressure during operational incidents.
Minimum Requirements
- Tertiary qualification, degree or diploma in Information Systems, Engineering or a related technical field.
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in a Systems environment and/or with Control and Automation systems.
- Demonstrated experience planning and delivering technical projects, including budget and timeline ownership.
- Demonstrated hands‑on experience with MES, SCADA, OT infrastructure or industrial data platforms.
- Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment; brewery experience advantageous.
- Experience delivering user training and driving system adoption across multiple sites advantageous.
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning systems (e.g. SAP) advantageous.
- Formal project management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2) advantageous.
