Job summary

Super Group International is seeking a Team Lead for Systems Operations in Cape Town. You will lead and grow a high‑performing team, ensure governance and compliance with ISO 27001/SOX, and drive cost control and automation initiatives across infrastructure.

You will partner with delivery, architecture and PMO teams to forecast requirements, optimize budgets and deliver reliable services. A strong IT background with Microsoft technologies is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience operating within governance and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOX, or similar standards.
• Relevant IT tertiary qualification and Microsoft Certifications.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT using Microsoft Technologies.
• Ability to troubleshoot and convey complex problems to stakeholders in an easy and efficient way.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
• Budget management, forecasting and cost optimisation experience.
• Experience driving infrastructure modernization and automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Systems Operations team, setting goals, coaching and performance objectives.
• Collaborate with Solutions Delivery Manager and other Infrastructure teams to align technology with business needs.
• Manage budgets, forecast hardware needs and control costs across the systems estate.

building. **Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management*** Meet regularly with the Solutions Delivery Manager to understand current and future business requirements.* Work closely with other Infrastructure teams to understand their challenges and align technology solutions to business needs.* Collaborate with the Architecture team to ensure future infrastructure requirements align with existing and planned technology strategies.* Partner with the PMO team to effectively manage project delivery, resource allocation, team velocity and forecasting. **Financial Management & Budget Control*** Analyse current systems and resource utilisation to identify cost optimisation opportunities, with particular focus on software licensing and infrastructure expenditure.* Explore and implement initiatives that reduce operational and technology costs while maintaining service quality.* Develop comprehensive and accurate technology budgets to support effective business forecasting.* Monitor and track budget performance to ensure commitments remain aligned with approved financial plans.* Work with the Solutions Delivery Manager to forecast hardware requirements and proactively plan future infrastructure investments.* Partner with Procurement to maintain an accurate technology budget and ensure project planning aligns with financial constraints.* Maintain an effective intercompany billing platform for infrastructure consumption, enabling accurate financial reporting and cost allocation. **Technology Strategy, Innovation & Vendor Management*** Continuously research emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and operational improvement.* Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic vendors and technology partners.* Coordinate proof-of-concept evaluations to validate the technical and commercial viability of new technologies.* Negotiate favourable commercial agreements and licensing arrangements to maximise business value while maintaining ethical procurement practices.* Analyse existing infrastructure and proactively drive innovation through self-initiated improvement projects. **Infrastructure Operations & Service Reliability*** Support and maintain all core hardware infrastructure, ensuring appropriate vendor support and maintenance contracts are in place.* Ensure comprehensive monitoring is implemented across all infrastructure components, including servers, storage platforms, UPS systems, air-conditioning units and generators.* Define and drive processes for the effective daily management of infrastructure services, including health checks, audits, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement activities.* Drive the optimisation of Systems team processes and infrastructure to ensure services are automated, stable, supportable, scalable, highly available and simple. **Governance, Compliance & Reporting*** Ensure compliance with organisational and regulatory standards, including ISO 27001, SOX and other applicable governance requirements.* Ensure OKRs and Commitments of Work (COWs) are completed, monitored and reported on effectively.* Maintain
