A leading professional services firm in Stellenbosch seeks a Tax Compliance Consultant to provide comprehensive tax compliance services. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of experience in tax compliance, possess a relevant degree with Taxation, and demonstrate excellent communication skills. As a Tax Compliance Consultant, you will provide tax compliance services to PwC's clients, completing all tasks efficiently, professionally, and on time to deliver high-quality service.
Relevant South African degree or diploma with Taxation as a core module Registered Tax Technician or Tax Professional (SAIT)
Experience required Minimum of 6 years' experience in tax compliance and tax administration, including 3 years' experience in company tax compliance.
Tax compliance work specifically for companies Administration of provisional and final income tax returns and other SARS-related returns (companies, trusts, individuals, PBOs) Maintenance of tax clients on tax management software (GreatSoft) and SARS eFiling Completion and review of income tax returns and assessments on eFiling, managing all SARS correspondence Liaison with SARS, clients, and staff regarding assessments, objections, disputes, refunds, queries, registrations and deregistrations Follow up on outstanding SARS matters Meet with SARS on behalf of clients and PwC Ensure clients' tax compliance affairs are updated and SARS deadlines met, delivering quality services Complete and submit VDP applications Approve International Transfers (AIT) and tax compliance status requests Respond to SARS verification queries Consult clients and PwC staff on tax compliance and administration matters Support tax compliance co-team members and manager Adhere to internal risk management procedures Perform general administrative tasks Attend internal and external training and comply with annual CPD requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented, accurate, organized, capable of independent work in a team environment Strong multitasking skills and proactive attitude toward tasks and deadlines Sound computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, etc.) and administrative skills Experience with GreatSoft or a similar tax database package advantageous Knowledge of the South African Income Tax Act and Tax Administration Act; experience with SARS and eFiling Registered tax practitioner or willingness to register as a tax practitioner Fluency in English and Afrikaans Prepared to work overtime if required Valid driver's licence and own transport Independence requirements to be considered Standard requirements.
