Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience or a recently qualified Chartered Accountant CA(SA).
  • Corporate tax administration experience is advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with calculation and reviewing of all income tax calculations.

  • Calculate and disclose deferred tax in terms of IAS12.

Function Finance / Administration Facility Position Tax Compliance Officer Introduction

The vacancy assists for a Tax Compliance Officer based at Life Healthcare Head Office, in Dunkeld , reporting to the Tax Manager, Southern Africa. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring tax compliance across all taxes for a portfolio of companies within the Life Healthcare Group.

Critical Outputs
  • Assist with calculation and reviewing of all income tax calculations for business units within the Life Healthcare Group.
  • Completing and submitting corporate income tax returns for all Healthcare South African companies as required within a specified timeframe.
  • Calculation and disclosure of deferred tax in terms of IAS12 on group and business unit level.
  • Calculating and submitting of all provisional tax and dividend withholding tax payments.
  • Co-ordinating and resolving all tax queries with South African Revenue Services (SARS).
  • Reconcile income tax accounts of business units with SARS.
  • Calculating and submitting VAT reconciliations for VAT return submissions.
  • Supporting the FSC with VAT issues and coordinate responses to SARS queries.
  • Supporting Human Resources with PAYE issues and coordinate responses to SARS queries.
  • Assist with research and advising on tax matters, including new tax developments.
  • Presenting training and updating the business on relevant tax matters.
  • Assist with various projects within the group tax department as well as statutory reporting requirements.
  • Maintaining an ongoing professional relationship with SARS and specifically the company’s client relationship officer at the Large Business Centre.
Requirements
  • Com Honours with 2 years experience as a minimum or
  • A recently qualified Chartered Accountant CA(SA)
  • Corporate tax administration experience is advantageous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and SARS eFiling. Previous experience in SAP would be an advantage
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel when necessary
