Qualifications & Experience

BCom / Bachelors in Tax / Advanced Certificate in TaxMS Office with advanced Excel working knowledge Articles / 4 years' experience in a similar role

Key Responsibilities

Calculating of value added tax computations and completion of returns for South African entities. Reviewing and approving monthly statutory tax filings across 21 countries. Ensuring all deadlines are met for all tax filing requirements for region – monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual submissions. This includes direct and indirect taxes and other compliance matters. Ensuring payments were processed and obtaining documentation and information to ensure full records are kept for each tax transaction. Maintaining running reconciliations of all tax accounts across the region. Collection and maintenance of withholding tax certificates for each entity, to ensure they can be claimed. Updating of annual transfer pricing reports for each company, including gathering of information. Helping with year-end and periodic tax computations. Ensuring corporate reporting requirements are met. Liaison with external auditors on tax and deferred tax computations where necessary. Any other tasks, as needed, including tax health checks.

Willingness to travel domestically and across Africa (although role is primarily Johannesburg-based). Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and work under pressure. Self-driven.
