• Perform repairs and maintenance under supervision with safety criteria.
• Gain diagnostic knowledge to identify sources of customer vehicle concerns.
• Prepare reports and job cards; ensure quality standards are met.

Overview:

This position will suit a dynamic individual - we need a quick thinker, who is an innovative and confident problem solver. You must be hard working and able to work efficiently without supervision, with the ability to put yourself in the shoes of our customers.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Attend and complete & pass online, classroom and practical training requirements on an ongoing basis
• Complete & pass each module / unit standard as prescribed in applicable training program as prerequisite to do final level test at the end of the level
• Complete & pass an integrated summative technical assessment at the end of each level
• Take instruction from a diverse group of mentors
• Be open to constructive criticism
• Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles applying applicable safety criteria under supervision
• Gain knowledge and experience to be capable to conduct extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of customers - vehicle concerns
• Gain knowledge and experience to be capable to provide accurate repair recommendations
• To be capable in preparing relevant reports and job card write-up
• Ensure quality standards are met
• Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure tools & equipment longevity and workplace safety

Requirements:

• (N2/ N3 or higher) with applicable Motor or Diesel trade theory qualification with a 65% average overall pass rate.
• NCV 4 with applicable Motor or Diesel (Automotive Repairs & Maintenance) with a 65 % average overall pass rate.
• Technical Matric and or Matric with either Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy / technical mathematics would be considered.
• Suitable workplace experience would be advantageous.
• Be between the ages of 18 and 29.
• Valid (code B / 08) South African Drivers License.
• Must NOT be Registered with a SETA on a programme or initiative currently.
• Must NOT have participated in the Youth Employment Services Programme (YES)
