The Talent Acquisition Consultant plays a key role in attracting and hiring top talent to support the organisation's strategic goals across industrial IT and OT, energy, engineering, and critical infrastructure connectivity.
This role is responsible for designing and executing effective sourcing, recruitment, and onboarding strategies that build a skilled, diverse, and future‑ready workforce. The consultant partners with hiring managers to understand workforce needs in highly technical and regulated environments, promotes employer branding, and ensures recruitment practices align with transformation, diversity, and inclusion objectives.
A strong emphasis is placed on using data analytics to drive smarter, faster, and more inclusive hiring decisions.
Workforce Planning Support: Collaborate with managers to forecast hiring needs and align recruitment plans with business and infrastructure demands.
Strategic Sourcing: Use digital platforms, social media, job boards, and academic partnerships to attract high‑quality candidates in engineering, energy, and IT / OT domains.
Data‑Driven Talent Attraction: Leverage recruitment analytics, market insights, and candidate data to optimize sourcing strategies and improve hiring outcomes.
Employer Branding: Promote the organisation's mission and values through targeted recruitment campaigns and candidate engagement strategies.
Inclusive Recruitment: Ensure fair, skills‑based hiring practices that meet Employment Equity targets promote diversity across technical roles.
Candidate Screening & Selection: Manage end‑to‑end recruitment processes including shortlisting, interviewing, assessments, and offer management.
Onboarding Coordination: Facilitate smooth onboarding experiences that help new hires integrate quickly and effectively into high‑performance environments.
Talent Pipeline Development: Build and maintain talent pools for critical roles in engineering, energy systems, cybersecurity, and infrastructure operations.
Recruitment Metrics & Reporting: Track and report on key recruitment metrics (e.g., time‑to‑fill, source effectiveness, diversity ratios) to support continuous improvement.
Compliance & Best Practice: Ensure recruitment practices comply with South African labour laws (LRA, BCEA, EE Act, POPIA) and reflect industry standards.
Advisory Support: Provide guidance to managers on recruitment strategies, market trends, and candidate experience improvements.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or related field. HR Analytics is advantageous.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years' experience in talent acquisition or recruitment, preferably within industrial IT / OT, energy, engineering, or infrastructure sectors and or related industries. Proven track record in sourcing and placing candidates across technical, operational, and leadership roles. Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS), recruitment analytics tools, and digital sourcing platforms.
Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of South African labour legislation and Employment Equity requirements. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or HR dashboards) to support evidence‑based decision‑making. Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and advisory skills. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret recruitment data and translate insights into action. Familiarity with technical talent profiles in engineering, energy and power, SCADA systems, and infrastructure operations.
