A well-established and dynamic HR and Recruitment Services company based in Durbanville, Cape Town, is seeking a Talent Acquisition Consultant to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Position Overview:

As a HR / Talent Acquisition Consultant, you will play a key role in the HR function, with a strong focus on Talent Acquisition (Recruitment). Your responsibilities will include attracting candidates and matching them to temporary and permanent positions within our client companies. You will work closely with clients, building strong relationships to gain a clear understanding of their recruitment needs and requirements.

Sourcing and assessing niche talent, using strategic outreach and networking to identify high-level professionals, and persuading them to consider new opportunities for specialized roles. Key duties involve conducting market research, engaging with potential candidates, managing the interview and negotiation process, and building strong relationships within specific industries.

The successful candidate will: Drafting and posting job advertisements across various media platforms. Actively sourcing candidates through networking, headhunting, and referrals. Screening CVs, conducting interviews, and performing background checks. Matching suitable candidates to client requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As the HR/ Talent Acquisition Consultant you will the vital link between the Talent Acquisition Business Manager, the HR Manager and candidates. The role is demanding and diverse and involves:

  • Developing good understanding of client companies: Research the industry, what they do, plus their work culture and environment.
  • Candidate Sourcing: Actively search for candidates through professional networks, resume databases, job boards and identifying and approaching suitable candidates who may already be employed.
  • Advertise Positions: Networking and sourcing are our main focus, although you will advertise positions and attract candidates by drafting and placing adverts in a range of social media.
  • Industry Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of a specific industry to identify leading talent effectively.
  • Candidate Assessment: Screen candidates’ qualifications and suitability for senior or specialized roles, managing interviews, candidate assessments and creating a shortlist of candidates for the client.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with potential candidates and clients.
  • Engagement & Persuasion: Initiate contact, communicate effectively, build relationships and persuade qualified, passive candidates to explore new opportunities. Briefing the candidate about the responsibilities, salary and benefits.
  • Market Research: Conduct benchmark research on compensation, benefits, and labor market trends.
  • Interviews: Arrange interviews of shortlisted candidates and informing candidates about the results of their interviews.
  • Background/ Reference Checks: Requesting references and supporting documents when a candidate is considered for employment.
  • Exceeding Targets: Working towards and exceeding targets that may relate to the number of candidates placed, a value to be billed to clients.
  • Negotiation: Facilitate and negotiate compensation packages and other employment terms.
  • Finalize Offer: Discuss offer details, get signed offer and close position.
