Assegai Recruitment is seeking a Tailings Engineer for a leading engineering consultancy in South Africa. The role calls for 4–7 years of tailings engineering experience and a BEng or BScEng in Civil Engineering.

You will support senior engineers and project managers on tailings storage facilities, return water dams, and geotechnical investigations, using Geostudio, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and CPTu testing where applicable. Registration with ECSA is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 4 to 7 years tailings engineering experience.
• BEng or BSc Eng in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Assist senior engineers and project managers with surveillance of tailings storage facilities and return water dams.
• Contribute to new and existing projects with geotechnical design inputs.
• Utilize Geostudio and related software for slope stability and seepage analyses.

Job Opportunity: Tailings Engineer

An opportunity for a Tailings Engineer with around 4 - 7 years experience to join a top engineering consultancy's Centurion or Sandton office.

The engineer would contribute to new and existing projects and assist senior engineers and project managers with surveillance of existing and design of new tailings storage facilities and return water dams.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• 4 to 7 years of tailings engineering experience
• B Eng or BSc Eng in Civil Engineering
• Professional registration with ECSA is advantageous
• Good fundamental understanding and knowledge of soil mechanics
• Post graduate experience in geotechnical engineering will be advantageous
• Experience in CPTu testing and interpretation
• Experience in geotechnical investigations considered advantageous
• Experience in related laboratory testing of soils and tailings material considered advantageous
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint
• Experience with slope stability, seepage analysis and FEM software, such as Geostudio.
• Proficient in AutoCad Civil 3D or ModelMaker
