Our client, a leading International Mining company, is seeking an experienced and qualified Tailings Dam Operations Manager to join their team at one of their mines in Zambia. This key position is responsible for ensuring strict compliance with engineering standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols, while driving the optimization of performance and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in tailings dam management and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manage end-to-end responsibility of Tailings Storage and Reclamation engineering projects including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Oversee routine inspections and performance monitoring to ensure stability, integrity and environmental compliance.
• Liase with regulatory bodies, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to align project goals with organizational and industry expectations.

Required Education and Experience :

• An Engineering degree in Mining, Geotechnical, Civil Engineering or in a related discipline is required.
• Minimum 10-15 years' experience in Tailings operational experience, including Tailings dam construction planning and execution as per GSITM standards.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Tailings management and / or water dam management.
• Project management experience including budgeting and costing will be added advantage.
• Understand the new modern technologies for monitoring and controlling of Tailings management for disaster management.
• Good understanding of laws and regulations for Tailings management in various countries.
