Could you be the full-time Tactical Business Development & Sales Manager in South Africa we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your business development and sales expertise in a cutting-edge and dynamic field. You’ll work alongside passionate, driven, and collaborative teammates.

You'll help shape the future of Alstom’s services portfolio by driving grassroots-level business development and sales activities, creating demand in the market, and increasing order intake and sales. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with internal teams across Product Line Services, Region Sales, Procurement, and Supply Chain, as well as external customers, partners, and suppliers, to deliver impactful solutions and foster strong relationships.

You’ll specifically take care of promoting and selling Alstom’s services portfolio (Asset Life Management, Refurbishments, Parts & Overhaul & Digital) to end customers, but also manage spare sales activities to improve customer experience and deliver the commercial plan for Parts, Repairs, and Overhaul in the cluster.

We’ll look to you for :

Identifying and developing business opportunities in the addressable market

Compiling and implementing 3-Year Plans and capture plans for the cluster

Mapping local fleets and analyzing maintenance contracts and regimes

Promoting Alstom’s Parts & Overhaul offerings and obsolescence solutions

Developing customer intimacy to understand their needs and pain points

Driving customer business meetings, negotiations, and proactive commercial development

Supporting bid and tender strategies to achieve target gross margins

Ensuring compliance with Environment, Health, Safety, and Quality standards

Compiling and managing delivery KPIs for the cluster

Bachelor’s or BTech degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering

Sales & marketing tertiary qualification

At least 5 years of customer service experience

Proven sales experience in the railway industry

Strong understanding of service sales, business development, and customer needs

Ability to present and articulate value propositions for technical portfolios

Experience in driving customer engagement and negotiations

Knowledge of maintenance engineering principles

Proficiency in MS Office and SAP

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
