Job summary

A healthcare organization in KwaZulu-Natal is seeking a Surgical Stores Assistant to manage surgical stock with efficiency. JOB TITLE:

SURGICAL STORES ASSISTANT X1

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Understands and supports the mission, vision, and values of the organisation. Promote the health, welfare, and safety of all patients in the organisation. Manage surgical stock with efficiency.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Responsible for picking stock for wards and theatre, ensuring all stock is accurately issued.
  • Ensure correct and accurate billing is completed.
  • Oversee and control all stock for surgical and theatre stores.
  • Responsible for placing orders for surgical stock.
  • Responsible for unpacking, checking and barcoding stock.
  • Reconcile invoices received for stock deliveries.
  • Ensure all stock received is captured accurately on the system.
  • Processing specialised products/documentation for theatre.
  • Participate in monthly stocktakes and variance investigations.

COMPETENCIES (The following will be advantageous)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

(Educational Qualifications & Experience)

  • Must have Grade 12 qualification.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must have knowledge of surgical stock and control.

At least 2 years experience in surgical stores would be an advantage.
