Job Title : Administrator – School of African Languages (3-Month Contract)

Location : Johannesburg, South Africa (Hybrid)

Contract Duration : December – March

Hours : Full-time, 40 hours per week

Compensation : R6, – R7, per month (contract / self-employed)

Role Overview

We're seeking a professional, organized, and proactive Administrator to provide academic and operational support to our team during a key term period.

The role involves managing course administration, coordinating communication between students and tutors, and ensuring the smooth running of online learning platforms.

The ideal candidate will have experience in educational administration, strong communication skills, and confidence using digital tools for modern learning environments.

This is a self-employed contract position.

The successful candidate will manage their own tax obligations in line with South African regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage course schedules, timetables, and student enrolments.
  • Liaise effectively with tutors, students, and the management team to ensure seamless delivery of programmes.
  • Maintain and manage online learning platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom, Moodle).
  • Schedule and coordinate staff meetings, diaries, and appointments.
  • Support academic operations, documentation, and reporting.
  • Assist with communications and general school administration as required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in education or administrative support roles.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Familiarity with African languages or cultural contexts is an advantage.

Hours : 40 hours per week (some flexibility required)

Location : Hybrid – Johannesburg area
