Job summary

Sabenza IT & Recruitment is seeking a proactive Supply Planner in Bellville, South Africa. You will manage stock levels, plan replenishments and coordinate with suppliers to ensure products are available when needed.

Using demand forecasts and ERP tools, you will optimise purchasing, production and logistics while minimising excess stock. The role requires strong Excel skills, analytical ability and cross-functional collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Matric and a relevant degree/diploma in Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in supply planning or procurement.
• Experience in FMCG/manufacturing is advantageous.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong analytical abilities.
• Good understanding of inventory management, replenishment planning, safety stock, supplier lead times and purchasing requirements.
• Ability to translate demand forecasts into supply and procurement plans.
• Experience managing suppliers, stock availability and supply chain risks.
• Strong communication and relationship-building across teams.
• Attention to detail, organisation and follow-through.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Odoo, and BI reporting.
• APICS or CSCP certification is an added advantage.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Plan stock levels, replenishment and purchasing to ensure product availability while minimising excess and slow moving stock.
• Use demand forecasts to plan procurement, production and replenishment requirements.
• Monitor stock movements, incoming shipments, purchase orders and delivery timelines.
• Build supplier relationships, communicate forecasts and follow up on delayed orders.
• Ensure raw materials, packaging and components are available when needed.
• Coordinate supply requirements for promotions and new product launches, including supplier timelines and logistics.
• Identify and manage risks relating to stock shortages, supplier delays, production constraints and warehouse capacity.
• Develop recovery plans for stockouts and communicate supply risks to relevant teams.
• Maintain planning reports, dashboards, stock records and KPI's.
• Prepare supply planning updates and support budgeting, inventory valuation and supply chain reviews.
• Maintain accurate product information, supplier lead times, stock levels and bills of materials within the ERP system.
