About the Role

Our client, a significant player in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a highly analytical Supply Chain Analyst to join their team, focusing on operations in the Mossel Bay, Western Cape region. This role is instrumental in optimizing inventory levels, improving logistics efficiency, and supporting strategic decision-making across the supply chain. The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative skills, a thorough understanding of supply chain principles, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. This is a key position for influencing operational improvements and contributing to the sustained growth of our client's business in the Western Cape . You will be instrumental in identifying cost-saving opportunities and enhancing service levels throughout the distribution network.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and maintain supply chain models to forecast demand, inventory needs, and logistics costs.
• Monitor key supply chain performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports for management.
• Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and sales teams to ensure alignment and efficiency.
• Support the development and implementation of supply chain strategies and projects.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities within transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
• Assist in optimizing inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing holding costs.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to distribution networks and logistics processes.

• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in supply chain management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supply chain analysis or logistics role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI).
• Solid understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management, and logistics operations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Experience with Supply Chain Planning (SCP) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is advantageous.
