Job description
Introduction

An exciting opportunity exists for a Supervisor : Environmental Engineering to provide operational technical support in occupational health, hygiene, ventilation and refrigeration.

The successful incumbent will assist in managing daily Environmental Engineering activities, ensuring compliance with legislation, and driving continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead and participate in safety, health, environmental and risk management initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on legal compliance in terms of the MHSA.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining standards, policies, procedures and Codes of Practice.
  • Conduct occupational health and hygiene monitoring, investigations and reporting.
  • Participate in projects aimed at improving systems and processes.
  • Plan and review ventilation and refrigeration requirements for designated sections.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to ensure compliance with environmental engineering standards.
  • Supervise and develop team performance in line with company policies.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Grade 12 or equivalent with a Certificate in Mine Environmental Control.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Mine Environmental Engineering (occupational health, hygiene, ventilation & refrigeration).
  • Proven knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and related regulations.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office suite).
  • Valid Code 08 (EB) driver's licence.
  • Must be declared medically fit and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test.
