Job Description

The Senior Relationship Manager is a senior-level position responsible for assisting clients in raising funds in the capital markets, as well as in providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and other types of financial transactions in coordination with the Institutional Banking team. The Senior Relationship Manager also serves as an intermediary in trading for clients. The overall objective of this role is to act as a strategic advisor to our clients by formulating investment strategies and raising capital for clients.

Responsibilities
  • Expand a local and regional portfolio of accounts on Chinese parented multinational corporate clients, with varying/complex financial needs with the objective of revenue growth and good credit quality in line with Citi’s credit standards, policies and processes
  • Nurture existing client relationships to become a trusted advisor. Engage in strategic dialogue with clients’ senior management, opening access to the highest levels of their organization.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend solutions to address these needs, such as financing, streamlining of cash management operations, foreign currency solutions, etc.
  • Cross-sell banking products, including cash management, trade finance, trade services, structured trade products, foreign exchange, commodities, fixed income, loans (including syndicated, bilateral) and capital market products
  • Responsible for all credit aspects of the relationship including annual reviews, early problem recognition and remedial management
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Deliver the annual budgeted revenue growth developed in agreement with Product partners, driving specific initiatives as required.
  • Coordinate with China PAM (Parent account manager) and assist the local country SAM (Subsidiary account manager) bankers in digging deeper to identify clients’ needs.
  • Implement calling plans to ensure business development is pursued across the client base. Become the designated calling contact for selected multinational clients who are intensive users of our global network.
  • Manage delivery of Citi’s global network by providing a consistent coverage approach to our multi-national corporate clients through liaising with banking partners, providing ‘network’ forums to facilitate communication, and ensuring product partner connectivity across Citi.
  • Maximize deal origination and replication around network solutions. Act as link between the local coverage and product organizations to provide a holistic service to our multinational clients.
  • Focus on China – MEA corridor on driving China Desk portfolio in the region and specific countries with an agreed growth rate target.
  • Agree with the product partners the future vision, trend and direction of each product within the coverage space, foster innovation in products and solutions, and communicate to ensure alignment within the team.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal and regulatory policies on Risk, Control, Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti Money Laundering (AML). Foster the highest standards of ethics, control and risk management.
Qualifications

  • Fluent in both spoken and written Mandarin and English
Education
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred
