This is a full-time remote role for a Bookkeeper at a US-based accounting firm.
The bookkeeper will be responsible for managing the company's books, financial planning, financial reporting, record keeping, and more.
You will work directly with the executive team at a growing US-based company.
Responsibilities
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.
- Bring the books to the trial balance stage.
- Perform partial checks of the posting process.
- Complete tax forms.
- Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements.
- Process accounts receivable / payable and handle payroll in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience as a bookkeeper or accountant.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable / receivable principles.
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
- Proficient with QuickBooks, Xero, and other accounting and bookkeeping software.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proven track record of handling confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
- Typing speed 50+ words per minute.
- Ability to work in US time zone.
- A clean and professional remote work environment.
- Fast internet, a second monitor, and a fast computer.

- Independent contractor agreement paid twice monthly.
- Client has a desire for long-term commitment.
- $1, - $1, per month, paid in USD, depending on experience.
