Placements24 is seeking a talented Structural Engineer to contribute to the design of high-rise buildings in Pretoria. You will engage in all stages of structural design, from concept to construction support, using advanced modelling software and collaboration with renowned architects.

The role requires a strong technical foundation, passion for problem-solving, and commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing solutions for complex urban developments in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA or eligibility to obtain it.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in high-rise building design and analysis.
• Proficiency in ETABS, SAP2000 or SAFE.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for multi-story buildings using state-of-the-art software.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and design consultants to integrate structural systems effectively.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs from construction teams.
• Stay abreast of advancements in structural engineering, materials, and building technologies.

Requirements

• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA or eligibility to obtain it.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the structural design of buildings, with a focus on high-rise structures.

• Strong knowledge of concrete, steel, and composite structural systems.
