Responsibilities
- Technical responsibility for all structural engineering and design activities.
- Maintain the required technical quality of work.
- Review, check and approve work output of discipline assigned staff as required.
- Ensure that designs comply with the relevant procedures and regulations.
- Providing interpretation of International, National and Company Standards, Codes of Practice and Procedures.
- Provide technical leadership to discipline assigned staff as required.
- Using computer modelling simulations to predict how structures will act under varying conditions, i.e., high winds, flooding or earth tremors.
- Advising on suitable materials for a build.
- Calculating loads and stresses on structural foundations, beams and walls.
- Ensuring projects meet legal, environmental and health and safety standards.
- Working with designers to develop construction plans and blueprints.
- Delivering progress reports.
- Prepare architectural designs for commercial buildings, strategically important buildings, University buildings, manufacturing facilities and other essential facilities.
- Analyze all design structures to upgrade existing power production facilities and build new facilities.
- Prepare engineering designs for foundation systems and steel structures to build boiler and powerhouse buildings and manage all air pollution control systems.
- Analyze and design limestone and coal storage and loading facilities, cooling towers, water intake and treatment facilities, piper racks, electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Design of various infrastructures that include bridges, production houses and hydraulic systems.
- Perform research and design structures for new petrochemical and oil refinery facilities, biofuel, chemical and Indus trial facilities, consumer goods and food processing facilities.
- Develop structural up gradation or expansion of existing infrastructural facilities for various types.
- Design electrical substations and underground overhead high-voltage transmission lines.
- Administer all activities for design of site development, steel and foundation, mechanical and electrical equipment, concrete or wood or steel design to cater to individual needs of clients.
- Ensure designs are prepare to according to necessary civil engineering standards and procedures.
- Perform extensive research to develop specific designs as per customer requirements.
Qualifications
- 5 - 8 years of relevant experience would be an advantage.
- Valid Driver's License.
- BScEng, BEng Civil Engineering ONLY.
- ECSA registration would be an advantage.
- Microsoft Office Proficiency.
- Civil Designer.
- AutoCAD.
- AutoDesk Civil 3D.
- Probar 2D.
- Revit.
- CADSRC will be an added advantage.
