Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering.
• Registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist.
• Minimum 2 years’ verifiable post-registration experience.
• Experience in planning, design and contract administration of building and engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of design codes and technical standards.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and administer contracts for engineering and building projects from start to finish.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical specs and tender documents.
• Lead internal design and draughting teams.
• Quality-check project deliverables and manage progress reports.
• Review work by junior engineers and provide guidance.
• Lead site and technical meetings and liaise with clients.
• Support project safety and environmental requirements.
• Own transportation and manage on-site duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning, design and contract administration of engineering and building projects from inception to completion
• Preparing engineering calculations, technical specifications and tender documents
• Leading internal project teams of designers and draughting personnel
• Managing and quality-checking project deliverables
• Reviewing technical work prepared by junior and intermediate engineers
• Preparing project, technical and progress reports
• Managing structural works and contract administration on site
• Leading site and technical meetings
• Handling technical queries and assisting with dispute resolutionCommunicating with clients and other professional team members
• Supporting project safety and environmental requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering
