Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in localisation and procurement strategy execution.
  • Experience in the packaging or engineering environment is advantageous.

Job description

Our client, a global leader in the design and manufacturing of high-speed equipment for the packaging and bottling industry , is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Lead to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and executing sourcing strategies, localising procurement activities, and driving supplier performance across the MEA region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Profile and assess category performance, current supplier base, and market conditions.
  • Onboard existing OEM suppliers into the organisation and propose strategies for the MEA region.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive supplier portfolio and input into regional sourcing strategies.
  • Conduct market research, cost estimation, and forecasting to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Negotiate pricing, specifications, and delivery terms with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
  • Lead supplier engagement initiatives for new sources, products, and procurement methods.
  • Conduct periodic business reviews with key suppliers to evaluate performance and compliance.
  • Identify, evaluate, and propose opportunities for local purchasing and manufacturing within the region.
  • Ensure all sourcing activities align with corporate procurement policies and regional directives.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Procurement, or a related analytical field.
  • CIPS qualification preferred.
  • 57 years experience in localisation and procurement strategy execution.
  • Experience in the packaging or engineering environment (plastics, metals, etc.) advantageous.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, decision-making, and management capability.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform under pressure.
