Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Port Operations Director to lead all facets of Richards Bay port operations. You will oversee cargo handling, vessel scheduling, budgeting, and KPI-driven performance while driving safety and environmental standards.

This executive role requires strategic leadership, strong stakeholder management with shipping lines, authorities, and unions, and a track record of delivering operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level and MBA required or highly preferred.
• Extensive 10+ years in port management, terminal operations, or maritime logistics with senior leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of cargo handling equipment, safety regulations, and port operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day port operations including cargo handling, vessel scheduling, and terminal management.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance port efficiency, safety, and environmental performance.
• Manage relationships with shipping lines, customs authorities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
