Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Mine Planning Superintendent for on-site operations in Kimberley, Northern Cape. You will oversee all mine planning activities, develop tactical and strategic plans, optimize layouts and schedules, and drive safety and environmental compliance.

Lead a team of mining engineers, geologists, and surveyors; conduct feasibility studies, manage budgets, and harness Deswik/Vulcan/Surpac software to maximize economic returns while aligning with company policies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or closely related discipline.
8+ years in mine planning and operations with 3+ years in supervisory/managerial role.
Experience in open-pit or underground mine planning, preferably Kimberley or similar.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive short-term and long-term mine plans.
Optimize layouts, production schedules, and resource allocation for profitability and efficiency.
Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new projects and expansions.
Ensure plans comply with safety, environmental standards, and company policies.
Supervise and mentor a team of mine engineers, geologists, and surveyors.
Collaborate with geological and operational teams for accurate resource modeling and reserves.
Monitor performance against plan and implement corrective actions.
Manage planning budget and control costs.
