Job Description

Looking for a vibrant, smart and strategic Marketing Consultant with experience in all things brand and product to manage and execute marketing activities. An understanding of retail and SMEs as well as direct to consumer (e-Commerce) and retailers would be beneficial. This is a niche exclusive distribution and retail lifestyle/ fashion brand. This is a full-day in-office role in Hout Bay. This opportunity requires someone already living and based in Cape Town. Primarily you will be responsible to put together the marketing strategy across channels and oversee and guide executives ensuring effective implementation and rollout to support coordinated marketing efforts that drive product sales and brand visibility. The role involves marketing and digital marketing coordination, working with social media and content design partners as well as suppliers and maintaining relationships.

The role works closely with the founders on campaigns, the production team and their social media ads person.

Key responsibilities
  • Clear marketing plan with key strategic outcomes and a timeline
  • Create marketing collateral in line with brand strategy
  • Able to run with projects and follow up with outsourced teams
  • Drive campaigns and changes when needed to web and content
  • Campaigns with customers
  • Design briefs to graphic designer on marketing material
  • Provide direction and overview of Brand & Marketing with ability to roll out elements
  • Understanding of brand CI to uphold (and improve/guide on) the integrity of the brand elements
  • Ability to create a brand manual (brand toolkit specifically)
  • Oversee, implement and manage all social media or marketing projects
  • Assist business owner and admin staff with social media requests
  • General brand and marketing administration
  • Organization of collateral in Canva including images and video content

Marketing Coordination & Planning
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive marketing and editorial calendar for the brand
  • Ensure alignment of marketing activities with strategic objectives, brand guidelines, and seasonal priorities
  • Coordinate and track campaign timelines, deliverables, and outcomes
Social Media & Brand Presence
  • Manage all social media channels and ensure regular, engaging, and aligned activity
  • Maintain posting schedules and monitor comments, tags, and direct messages
  • Support the development of thought-leadership and storytelling content for the brand
Events/Promotions
  • Coordinate events, workshops, and community activations for the brand
  • Manage logistics, supplier liaison, guest lists, and event communication
  • Support promotional activities, photography, and post-event content
Content & Campaign Management
  • Work with social media consultant, partners/contributors to prepare and publish content across digital platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, website, newsletters)
  • Oversee the creation, review, and scheduling of posts, ensuring consistent tone and quality
  • Draft captions, assist with copywriting, and prepare visuals for approval
  • Track campaign performance and prepare summary reports on engagement and reach
Requirements
  • Completed Marketing or relevant diploma or tertiary certificate
  • 4+ years' experience in Brand Strategy and implementation/roll out
  • 3+ years' marketing coordination experience in-office/on-site
  • 4+ years of social media, digital marketing experience - proven track record
  • Experience working with designers
  • Marketing campaigns
  • Retail and warehouse marketing experience and brand product marketing experience ideal
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Comfortable working independently, using own initiative and managing meetings and engagement for discussion and review (approvals etc) with business owner
  • Working on a fabulous, collaborative, female brand
