Job summary

Santam Insurance is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to lead the Group Procurement function. Based in Tygervalley, Cape Town, you will manage strategic procurement projects and drive cost efficiencies, compliance, and stakeholder value across the Sanlam Group.

You will collaborate with senior partners to ensure consistent procurement practices, deliver milestones on time within budget, and lead transformation initiatives across multiple spend categories.

Qualifications

• BComm (preferable) or equivalent with any other relevant postgraduate qualifications.
• Admitted Attorney with LLB or any recognised legal degree is advantageous.
• Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) and/or Project Management Institute (PMI).
• Minimum of 10 years practical experience in procurement and/or supply chain environment in financial services.
• Experience with procurement transformation projects, especially M&A.
• Experience in sourcing, contracting and supplier management across multiple spend categories.
• International experience on procurement projects will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Classify spend and analyze spend data.
• Develop procurement business cases for spend categories.
• Initiate procurement initiatives and develop category plans.
• Source and manage contracts within the portfolio.
• Manage costs and achieve savings against budget.
• Drive strategic sourcing initiatives and new procurement initiatives.
• Manage supplier relationships and ensure compliance processes.
• Maintain reporting platforms and data quality.
