Job summary

Africa Health Research Institute invites a Grants Management Specialist to oversee national and international grant awards. You will manage pre-award to post-award processes, coordinate due diligence, budget development, reporting, and compliance while supporting stakeholders and AHRI sites in Durban and Somkhele.

Ideal candidates possess a strong analytical mindset, deadline-driven work style, and experience with grants management in multidisciplinary settings.

Qualifications

• BSc in any science discipline or related qualification or B.Com in Accounting or related qualification
• Qualification in grants and contract management (desirable)
• Qualification in Project management (desirable, not essential)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate pre-award activities including funding announcements and budget development
• Ensure due diligence and contract management compliance across AHRI stakeholds
• Support post-award grant administration, including cost centres, reporting and audits
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams for grant proposals and renewals
• Maintain grants databases, documentation, and templates
• Support coordination and communication with funders and collaborators
