Job summary

Network1 in Sandton, Johannesburg is seeking a Financial Modelling Specialist to support strategic investment decisions, project evaluation, pricing submissions, and business growth in the renewable energy sector.

You will build and refine complex financial models, perform valuations, support bids, and collaborate with engineering, legal, commercial, and development teams to deliver high‑value projects across South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
• CA(SA), CFA, CIMA, FMVA or equivalent qualification advantageous.
• 3–5 years’ experience in financial modelling and project finance.
• Proven pricing and commercial analysis experience.
• Renewable energy, infrastructure, power generation, or project finance experience is essential.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel modelling skills.
• Experience developing and reviewing project finance models.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and enhance complex financial models for renewable energy projects.
• Perform project valuation, feasibility studies, and investment analysis.
• Develop pricing models and support commercial bid submissions.
• Conduct financial due diligence and risk assessments for new opportunities.
• Evaluate project returns, sensitivities, and scenario analyses.
• Support project financing activities and lender requirements.
• Prepare investment committee presentations and financial recommendations.
• Analyse project performance against financial assumptions and forecasts.
• Collaborate with engineering, legal, commercial, and development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide strategic financial insights to support business growth and decision-making.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory developments, and market dynamics within the renewable energy sector.
