Placements24 in Kimberley, South Africa, is seeking a highly experienced Lead Software Architect to define and drive enterprise-level software solutions. This role focuses on scalable, robust architectures that support complex business needs and future growth.

You will partner with senior management, development teams, and stakeholders to translate architectural vision into high-quality implementations, set standards, mentor engineers, and guide technology choices.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (PhD a plus).
10+ years of experience in software development, incl. architecture roles.
Proven track record delivering large-scale enterprise software.
Expertise in architectures (microservices, event-driven) and patterns.
Strong knowledge of programming languages, databases, cloud platforms, and modern methodologies.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Define and evolve the software architecture strategy and roadmap for enterprise-level applications.
Design scalable, resilient, and secure systems, selecting appropriate technologies and frameworks.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs.
Establish and enforce architectural standards, patterns, and best practices.
Conduct architectural reviews and ensure alignment with business objectives and technical standards.
