Job summary

Network Finance, a prominent financial services organisation, seeks a Data & AI Governance Lead to shape governance across Data Management, Information Lifecycle Management, and AI initiatives. You will drive governance frameworks, AI risk oversight, regulatory compliance, and data quality initiatives while influencing senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a risk, information or data field; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• Minimum 8 years in Data Governance, Information Management or related disciplines.
• 5–7 years in Financial Services or regulated environments preferred.
• Proven experience building governance frameworks and operating models.
• Experience in governance assurance, compliance assessments and remediation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Data & AI Governance strategies, frameworks, standards and operating models.
• Establish decision rights, governance structures, committees, and accountability.
• Drive enterprise-wide Data Governance and Information Lifecycle Management.
• Define Responsible AI governance, controls, standards and assurance processes.
• Oversee AI risk management covering explainability, bias, privacy, security and resilience.
• Govern AI use-case intake, prioritisation, approval and monitoring.
• Conduct AI Readiness assessments for key datasets and products.
• Ensure regulatory compliance including POPIA and related frameworks.
• Develop data quality, metadata, lineage, ownership and stewardship frameworks.
• Lead governance assessments, audits, remediation initiatives and reviews.
• Mentor data governance practitioners and foster data culture.
• Monitor industry developments and regulatory changes; advise senior management.
