Job summary

Persona Staff seeks a cost estimator to prepare and maintain accurate project costings. You will review technical specifications, drawings, and requirements to develop budgets and pricing strategies, collaborating with engineering, procurement, and production teams.

You should have a tertiary engineering or related qualification, proven costing experience, and strong Excel skills. Bilingual English-Afrikaans is preferred, and familiarity with HVAC or ventilation projects is an advantage.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, or a related field (advantageous).
Proven experience in a similar costing or estimating role.
Bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
Background in HVAC, ventilation, or fan applications is beneficial.
Proficient in Excel and other costing-related tools.
Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates based on technical specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
Analyze materials, labour, and overhead costs to establish budgets and pricing strategies.
Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to compile cost data.
Monitor cost trends and generate reports for management decision-making.
Identify and recommend cost-saving measures without compromising safety or quality.
Maintain and update internal costing databases and documentation.
Assist in tendering and bidding processes with thorough cost analysis.
