Job summary

FirstRand Bank Limited is seeking a Compliance Specialist to provide robust regulatory compliance advice and support within the FR Life Assurance segment. You will monitor processes, design controls, and ensure alignment with compliance standards while partnering with business units to mitigate risk and drive effective governance.

The role requires deep knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and a proactive approach to maintaining an effective control environment.

Qualifications

3+ years in regulatory/compliance roles, preferably in cell captive insurer.
Legal qualification or BCom with relevant coursework.
Experience with compliance governance and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

Advise on design and building of compliant business processes and controls.
Ensure implementation of governance, policies and standards across the business.
Ensure compliance with statutory, legislative, policy and governance requirements.
Review audit findings and changes to ensure adequate controls.
Develop risk understanding and monitoring across the business.
Prepare reports highlighting findings, issues and remediation items.
