• Master's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in communications, public relations, or marketing communications.
• Proven ability to develop and execute integrated communication strategies.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong storytelling and presentation abilities.
• Proven experience in media relations, including crisis communication management.
• Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, and content creation.
• Experience managing external agencies and vendors.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model, balancing office and remote duties in Stellenbosch, Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead media relations efforts, including pitching stories, responding to inquiries, and managing press conferences.
• Create compelling content for various channels: press releases, blog posts, social media updates, website copy, and internal communications.
• Manage and grow the company's social media presence and online community engagement.
• Oversee the development of marketing collateral and communication materials.
• Monitor media coverage and industry trends, providing analysis and insights.
• Develop and execute internal communication plans to ensure employee alignment and engagement.
• Act as a key spokesperson or coordinate spokesperson activities when necessary.
• Manage communication budgets and external agency relationships.
