Job summary

SACOB South African College of Business invites an Academic Head to shape the institution’s academic vision in commerce and distance higher education. The role demands strategic leadership, staff development and oversight of curricula, teaching, research and scholarship to advance SACOB’s mission.

You will manage academic calendars, coordinate programmes, ensure quality assurance and regulatory compliance with DHET, SAQA and CHE, and represent SACOB in external partnerships and industry

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree from a recognised university, preferably in commerce, business, management, economics, accounting, finance, or education.
• At least 5 years’ experience in academic leadership in higher education.
• Experience in programme coordination, curriculum development and academic governance.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate the academic vision and strategic direction for SACOB’s commerce-focused provision.
• Lead design and strategic review of fit-for-purpose curricula and ensure alignment with industry needs.
• Manage academic calendars, scheduling, assessment administration and reporting.
• Lead recruitment, induction, training and development of academic staff while mentoring Heads of Department.
• Ensure compliance with DHET, SAQA and CHE, and contribute to regulatory submissions.
