This role is essential for maintaining accurate stock levels, ensuring efficient material issuance to the production floor, and upholding our commitment to quality manufacturing standards.

Salary Range: R20,000 – R25,000 per month.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Management and Accuracy:

  • Manage all inventory movements, including the accurate receiving, storage, issuance, and transfer of raw materials (wire, connectors, components, etc.) and finished goods.
  • Conduct and coordinate daily cycle counts and periodic physical inventories, rigorously investigating and reconciling any discrepancies to ensure system accuracy.
  • Implement inventory control procedures, including managing product shelf life, minimizing obsolescence, and ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO).

2. Manufacturing Support and Issuance:

  • Accurately issue components and materials to the manufacturing floor based strictly on Work Orders and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for electrical harnesses and PCB assemblies.
  • Collaborate closely with the Production Planning team to ensure all required components are available, staged, and kitted efficiently to meet demanding production schedules.
  • Manage returns from production and ensure materials are correctly identified, inspected, and booked back into stock.

3. Warehouse Operations and Safety:

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure warehouse/stores area, optimizing the layout for efficient storage and retrieval of both bulk items and high-value components.
  • Ensure all stock is clearly identified, correctly located in bin locations, and handled safely to prevent damage.
  • Adhere strictly to all company health and safety regulations.

4. System Administration and Reporting:

  • Process all inventory transactions in real-time within the ERP system to maintain a true reflection of stock on hand and WIP (Work In Progress).
  • Maintain the integrity of the Item Master file, including part numbers, locations, units of measure, and safety stock levels.
  • Generate regular reports for management on stock valuation, stock aging, and consumption trends to support procurement decisions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Stores, Stock Control, or Inventory Controller role, preferably within a manufacturing or technical components environment.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of inventory control principles, including cycle counting, variance analysis, and transaction integrity.

  • Core Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical and mathematical ability, and outstanding organizational skills.

Highly Desirable (The “Plus”):

  • Meritec Forward ERP Experience: Direct, verifiable experience using the inventory, stock management, or manufacturing modules of the Meritec Forward ERP system will be a significant advantage.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with component types used in electrical harnessing (e.g., connectors, wire, terminals) and/or electronics manufacturing (PCB components).
