The role supports manufacturing operations by ensuring accurate receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking of materials, tools, and equipment. It plays a crucial part in preventing production downtime by maintaining organised inventory, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring efficient material flow between procurement and production teams. The store function also upholds safety, compliance, and accuracy across all stock‑related activities.

Requirements
  • Grade 12 / NQF Level 4.
  • Previous store / warehouse experience (manufacturing ideal).
  • Forklift licence (advantageous).
  • Strong planning and coordination skills.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy for accurate record‑keeping.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and handle physical work.
  • Basic computer skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
Inventory & Warehouse Management
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders.
  • Store materials and supplies correctly according to safety and storage standards.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and compliant warehouse areas.
  • Conduct routine warehouse checks and report discrepancies.
Release & Management of Stock
  • Issue materials, tools, and equipment based on approved requisitions.
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure timely replenishment.
  • Work with procurement and production to forecast stock needs.
Stock Records & Maintenance
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date stock records.
  • Perform regular stock counts and reconciliations.
  • Check equipment and tools to ensure they remain in good working condition.
  • Report shortages, discrepancies, or damaged items promptly.
