Job summary

A leading retail group in South Africa seeks a Store Manager to drive performance and manage store operations. The ideal candidate must have 2-3 years of Store Management experience and a Grade 12 qualification, along with a strong ability to lead and motivate teams in a dynamic retail environment. Responsibilities include managing stock losses, training staff, and driving sales to meet store targets. Preference will be given to designated groups as per the Employment Equity Act.

Job description
Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive performance through the store KPI’s (e.g. turnover, rewards, new accounts, visuals. Etc.).
  • Managing stock losses to ensure shrinkage is in line with the Company standard.
  • Driving turnover to ensure achievement of targets.
  • Ensures the team executes operational excellence through a customer-centric mind set.
  • Generating high levels of motivation and commitment within the store.
  • Ensure store staff implement merchandising strategy and standards.
  • Managing team schedule effectively.
  • Staff training and development.
  • People management, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management.
  • Controlling expenses.
  • Allocate time effectively; handle multiple tasks and completing priorities.
  • Manage risk within the store.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • A Grade 12 qualification.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
  • Must have 2-3 years Store Management experience.
  • Must have experience in driving sales to increase store profit.
