Leading and managing a team of staff members, ensuring that daily targets & KPI's are achieved.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Managing a team of 10 line-supervisors / team leaders.
- Staff compliments of staff members.
- Ensure customer service excellence.
- Ensure proper staffing is maintained to meet projected sales and customer experience needs.
- Understand and manage the impact of store financial reports (Management accounts).
- Perform and enforce all duties are completed in accordance with all company policy and procedure (SOP).
- Ensure a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with the Store's OHS policy.
- Clearly communicate and consistently enforce store and company safety policies and procedures.
- Observe and ensure that staff members working in designated departments are wearing the correct and appropriate protective clothing.
- Enforce and ensure that all staff members adhere to the company Dress Code Policy.
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained and in good working order, address any maintenance or equipment problems immediately.
- Stock control (stock take, mid-month stock take & global stock take).
- Perform other ad-hoc duties that may be assigned by the Regional Manager.
- Staff Welfare & Customer Experience.
- Provide and maintaining regular performance feedback to line-supervisors and hold line-supervisors accountable for their performance.
- Provide clear direction and on-going feedback regarding any operational changes to all staff members.
- Coach, mentor and encourage all staff members to be successful.
- Ensure that consistency is maintained when staff must be disciplined.
- Maintain an "open-door" policy to all staff members.
- Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
- Identify and develop talent within departments.
- Understand all union recognition agreements.
- Ensure that all staff members provide excellent customer service.
- Deal with customer conflict by providing resolutions.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- 12 National Senior Certificate (compulsory)
- Diploma in Retail Management – essential
- 5-10 years retail experience in a similar management role
- Track record of similar experience / responsibilities in the past
- Must be able to work retail hours (weekends & public holidays)
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, and analyze English language
- Ability to perform basic computer functions
- Ability to perform basic math
- Ability to stand / walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
- Ability to engage and lead line-supervisors and staff members to achieve store goals
