Stock Controller at Magoebaskloof Hotel – We are seeking a detail‑oriented and organized Stock Controller to join the team at our Magoebaskloof Hotel, located in Magoebaskloof (just outside Tzaneen).

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the organization and management of stock within the hotel, ensuring accurate stock levels, maintaining inventory records, and carrying out regular stock checks.

The Stock Controller will work closely with other departments to monitor stock movements, identify trends, and implement strategies to improve stock control processes.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and update stock levels to ensure accurate records.
  • Conduct regular stock checks (stock‑takes) and investigate discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of stock.
  • Analyze stock movements and identify trends.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve stock management processes.
  • Maintain clean and organized storerooms.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Provide reports on stock levels, trends, and issues to management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize stock control processes and procedures.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 2 to 3 years of proven experience as a Stock Controller or in a similar role.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understanding of stock control and packing.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within a hospitality environment is preferred.
