REPORTING: Regional Head of Maintenance
LOCATION: Durban
Aero Support Force Durban (Pty) Ltd has a requirement for a detail-oriented, physically fit, and safety-conscious individual to fill a position as a Stock Controller.
The role will be located in Durban.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Receiving and Inspection: Unload incoming shipments of aircraft parts, tools, and supplies; inspect for damage, accuracy, and compliance with purchase orders and SACAA regulations.
- Record discrepancies and notify supervisors promptly.
- Inventory Management: Organize and store items in designated areas using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles to prevent obsolescence.
- Conduct regular cycle counts, full physical inventories, and reconcile with system records to maintain 99% accuracy.
- Order Fulfilment and Picking: Pick, pack, and prepare orders for internal maintenance teams or global line stations based on requisitions.
- Ensure all shipments are labelled correctly, including hazardous materials handling per DG regulations.
- Shipping and Dispatch: Coordinate outgoing shipments via air, sea, or ground transport, including preparation of export documentation, customs declarations, and tracking.
- Collaborate with logistics partners for timely delivery.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols, including proper PPE usage and spill response.
- Support audits.
- Record Keeping: Update inventory systems with accurate data entries.
- Generate reports on stock levels, usage trends, and shortages to aid procurement decisions.
- Team Collaboration: Assist in training new staff, maintain a clean and organized warehouse, and communicate effectively with maintenance personnel, procurement, and external vendors.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment repeatedly, stand for extended periods, and work in varying temperatures.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication in English (verbal and written); additional languages like Afrikaans are beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.

- Reliable and punctual.
Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 certificate with English, Mathematics, and Accounting.
- Diploma or Certificate in Warehousing, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management (advantageous).
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a warehouse environment, preferably in aviation, manufacturing, or logistics.
- Experience with aircraft parts handling or hazardous goods (advantageous).
- Proven experience conducting thorough and accurate stock audits.
- Proficient in Inventory Management Software and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g., SACAA Part ) (desirable).
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, including OHS, fire safety for flammable goods, and dangerous goods handling compliance.
