Job description

The role of Stock Controller is a newly created one with the main objective being to operate as a key link between Purchasing, Operations and Warehouse functions. This will involve monitoring stock levels, movements, locations and a strategic use of space and processes. The aim of the role is to continually reduce the number of stock losses, write offs and customer / supplier stock queries year on year.

The individual will need to be able to work independently and be self-motivated. They should also process strong problem-solving skills and have a keen eye for detail.

Main Responsibilities
  • Compare items received against items ordered and ensure incoming stock is receipted and managed appropriately.
  • Carrying out periodic reviews of outgoing orders to ensure accuracy of shipments and respective stock records.
  • Ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are investigated, addressed, and resolved.
  • Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of all stock.
  • Help develop the company’s stock management strategy with the aim of reducing losses and obsolete stock, rationalising inventory, and maximizing available space.
  • Work with the warehouse management to ensure proper arrangement of stock to allow for optimum efficiency / organisation.
  • Perform process and system testing to locate and solve problems in data integrity.
  • Be responsible for managing and running planned stock takes.
  • Perform cyclic stock checks.
  • Minimise and removal of obsolete stock.
