Job Description(Snr.) Business Development Manager- STORAgE is a subsidiary of Canadian Solar and a leading company specializing in the design, manufacturing, and integration of battery energy storage systems for utility‑scale applications.

The company offers its own proprietary LFP battery solution, comprehensive EPC services, and innovative solutions aimed at improving grid operations, integrating clean energy, and contributing to a sustainable future.

e-STORAGE has successfully implemented over 3.3 GWh DC of battery energy storage solutions in various locations, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and China. This significant accomplishment solidifies e-STORAGE's position as a key player in the global energy storage integration industry.

Currently, the company operates two fully automated, state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities with an annual production capacity of approaching 20 GWh.

Canadian Solar is a leading manufacturer of solar photovoltaic modules, provider of solar energy and battery storage solutions, and developer of utility‑scale solar power and battery storage projects with a geographically diversified pipeline in various stages of development.

Over the past 22 years, Canadian Solar has successfully delivered over GW of premium‑quality solar photovoltaic modules to customers across the world. Since entering the project development business, Canadian Solar has developed, built, and connected over 9 GWp of solar power projects and over 3 GWh of battery storage projects across the world.

Currently, the company has approximately MWp of solar power projects in operation, 8 GWp of projects under construction or in backlog (late‑stage), and an additional 17 GWp of projects in advanced and early‑stage pipeline. The company also has a total battery storage project development pipeline of 52 GWh, including approximately 2 GWh under construction or in backlog, and an additional 50 GWh at advanced and early‑stage development.

Position Summary : The (Snr.) Business Development Manager is responsible for specifying, planning and growth of new product and solution in the Energy Storage segment. This role is in a key position to formulate innovative product solution and will form productive and sustainable relationships with external and internal business partners (both suppliers and customers) to ensure the ongoing and focused development and success of our business expansion.

Responsibilities
  • Collect & understand customer needs, market trends and input from across organizational leadership to align product strategy and roadmap in the Energy Storage market segment.
  • Identifying Opportunities, Proposal Preparation for the RFPs, Budgeting and Pricing, Price and Contract terms negotiation and Post‑Bid Analysis.
  • Develop and engage early adopter customer in testing and launching of new Energy Storage product and solutions.
  • Carry out feasibility studies / business plans for product or service improvement, customizing, re‑modeling and new product / sales / service development.
  • Assess operational issues regarding competitiveness, staying current in terms of trends, innovations and pricing while staying up to date with external and internal developments in the environment for identifying new market segments.
  • Align with internal development and delivery team or external supplier to ensure consistency in product and schedule expectation.
  • Conduct and participate in midterm and final product design review to assess product quality.
  • Work with field marketing and sales team in managing product launch process.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 year's experience in Energy Storage, Wind and solar industry.
  • Proven track record of business development experience.
  • Confident with decision making in regards to determining Product guidelines, purpose, following through and completion.
  • Understanding of financial reports including budgetary guidelines and Product expenditures.
  • Entrepreneurial background in a Sales capacity.
  • Can‑do personality, competitive and driven.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams.
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and / or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work independently and proactively without supervision.
  • Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementing skills.
  • Ability to travel as required – expected travel requirement app.
