BI Analyst Position

We are seeking to appoint a BI Analyst in a 12-month contract, to collaborate with an international team and work from our offices in Welgemoed (Northern suburbs of Cape Town).

Job Mission:

To provide end-to-end analytics solutions to address the business needs using BI technologies. Responsibilities include analyzing data, building datasets when needed, reconciling with the data source, analyzing requirements, proposing solutions, maintaining existing platforms, monitoring data loadings, supporting users, and training them. Additionally, support the BI team and provide quality reviews of their developments while contributing to a best-in-class mindset within the team.

Key Activities and Accountabilities:

1. Ensure maintenance of the BI platform, including user management.
2. Monitor processes and data flows, and perform bug fixing.
3. Conduct new release testing.
4. Document, design, implement, and reconcile solutions.
5. Enrich the existing data model based on changes in the source.
6. Collaborate with the BI team and end users to propose the best analytics solutions.
7. Lead the BI team.
8. Take ownership of projects and communicate progress with the project team and the BI team.
9. Update stories and log time based on activities.
10. Conduct quality reviews of team developments and advise on architecture and presentation.
11. Act as a guarantor and mentor for best practices adoption.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or higher.

Experience:

1. 5+ years of experience with SQL and a programming language.
2. 7+ years of experience with BI solutions, including ETL and visualization tools.
3. 5+ years of experience working with end users to define requirements and propose solutions.
4. Experience with one of these tools: Salesforce, Tableau, CRM Analytics, Python, or Snowflake.

Competencies:

1. English is a must; French is highly desirable.
2. Ability to work with end users to define requirements and identify solutions.
3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
