Job summary

A leading technology company in South Africa seeks an SQL and Oracle Database Administrator (DBA). This role involves maintaining and optimizing database systems while working with innovative technologies. The ideal candidate should have a formal IT qualification, strong SQL and Oracle skills, and at least 2-3 years of experience. Initially, it will be onsite for the first 3 months in Centurion, transitioning to a hybrid model thereafter.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education minimum.
• Formal IT qualification or ongoing studies in IT.
• ITIL v3 Foundation certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize database systems.
• Support Oracle DBA tasks from version 11G onwards.
• Perform SQL queries and log management.

Minimum Requirements : Grade 12; Formal IT qualification (National Diploma / Certificate, CompTia, Microsoft or similar certification) or must be currently studying towards completing a Degree / Diploma or Certificate in IT. ITIL v3 Foundation; Microsoft Azure and Office; Own car and Driver's License essential; MCSA : SQL Servers.

• Oracle DBA support 11G onwards; 2‑3 years' experience with MSSQL and PLSQL; Sound knowledge of ITIL and SDLC; Strong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independently; Exposure to Oracle version 11G and MSSQL.
