Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Sports Data Analyst to join our remote team, working from the Sandton area. You will gather, clean, and interpret complex sports data to provide actionable insights that drive performance improvements for athletes and teams.

You will create reports and dashboards, identify KPIs, and collaborate with coaches and performance staff to translate data into strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Sports Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a data analyst, with a significant portion focused on sports data.
• Proficiency in statistical software packages (e.g., R, Python with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, SciPy).
• Experience with database management (SQL) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data findings to non-technical audiences.
