About the Role

Our client, a prominent organization within the leisure and sports sector, is seeking a highly analytical and results-oriented Sports Analytics Manager to lead their data initiatives in Rustenburg, North West . This is a pivotal, on-site role where you will be instrumental in leveraging data to drive strategic decision-making, optimize team performance, and enhance fan engagement. You will manage a team of data analysts, overseeing the collection, interpretation, and application of complex datasets related to athlete performance, fan behavior, and market trends. The successful candidate will possess a strong blend of statistical expertise, technical proficiency, and a genuine passion for sports. This role requires a leader who can translate intricate data findings into clear, actionable insights for coaches, management, and marketing teams. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of sports data analysts, fostering a culture of data-driven excellence.

• Manage the collection, cleaning, and processing of large datasets from various sources (e.g., performance trackers, ticketing systems, social media).

• Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards and reports for ongoing monitoring.
• Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to ensure data integrity and infrastructure robustness.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in sports analytics and data science.
• Drive innovation in data analysis techniques to uncover new insights and opportunities for the organization.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in data analysis and statistical modeling, with at least 2-3 years in a management or leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience in sports analytics, performance analysis, or a related field.
• Expertise in statistical software and programming languages such as R, Python, SQL.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and predictive modeling techniques.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
• Familiarity with the sports industry landscape is highly advantageous.
• Must be able to work full-time on-site in Rustenburg .
